Outcomes
Committee for Ballarat lobbied the State Government and advocated the importance of a fast train service between Ballarat and Southern Cross Station in Melbourne.

In 2009 the Federal budget has allocated sufficent funds to separate the regional and metropolitan rail lines from Ballarat to Melbourne. This will reduce travel time to and from the Ballarat region.
