MaxiTRANS is an Australian public company that manufactures trailers for the road transport industry. It is the largest manufacturer of these products in Australia with several brand names under its umbrella, the most well known being Freighter.

MaxiTRANS is one of the largest employers in the region, employing approximately five hundred staff at the Ballarat site, in both skilled and semi-skilled positions.

MaxiTRANS values it people as its most important asset and endeavors to retain the considerable expertise of its employees through a commitment to training, skills development and personal challenge. There are a number of different reward and recognition schemes available to its employees and its vigorous OH&S program has resulted in a huge reduction in injuries in the past year.

The company hosts numerous visits to its site not just from customers, but from community groups and schools, and is working towards environmental credentials with improved recycling initiatives, the installation of water tanks, waterless urinals and the recent formation of a Green Team to take it further down the path of sustainable practices.
