Castlemaine Goldfields Ltd

Mining

Castlemaine Goldfields Limited (CGT) holds significant exploration titles encompassing five substantial goldfields in Central Victoria, Australia, all having been prominent gold producers historically. This land holding gives CGT access to two of the three largest historical gold producing areas in Victoria (totaling some 17M ozs). CGT has 100% of the Ballarat, Castlemaine, Tarnagulla, Berringa and Sebastian Goldfields, with approved Mining and Exploration Licences over the key areas.

In 2008 Castlemaine discovered the Chewton Gold Deposit next to the Wattle Gully Mine on its Castlemaine tenement.

In 2010 Castlemaine purchased the Ballarat Gold Mine from Lihir and completed a 14,000 metre exploration drilling program. Based on these successful results, the company has now embarked on the steps necessary to bring the Ballarat mine back into production. Concurrently with this, the company plans to continue with its regional exploration program so that further discoveries can be made.

There are significant synergies with CGT’s existing assets including the extensive knowledge of regional and local geology held by Castlemaine personnel as well as the potential to process any ore recovered from CGT’s existing projects at the Ballarat mill and the potential to utilise equipment across both Ballarat and CGT licence areas.
