Think Global Act Local - media piece by Mr Tony Chew, Chair-elect
This was the 1990’s catchphrase of many international businesses striving to expand into lucrative foreign markets where local customs and tastes often dictated variations to global marketing strategies. For many it was highly successful, proving that local execution of a global strategy can be much more effective than a rigid one-size-fits-all approach. Fast forward to 2009 and we find businesses struggling to survive due to the global financial crisis, with many closing their doors or curtailing operations in once profitable foreign countries.

Committee for Ballarat Plans for its own future - 6th February 2009
Committee for Ballarat has adhered to its own philosophy of planning for the future by appointing a chair-elect.
The Committee last night elected Tony Chew to the position for four months. Mr Chew will take over from present chair, Professor David James at the June General Meeting.
