The Committee for Ballarat held their Round Table Dinner at the Eureka Ballroom, Ballarat Lodge, for members and guests and featuring guest speaker, David Smorgon.
David is a highly successful and respected businessman whose skills have seen him rise to the heights of the business and sports management world, both as a Director with Smorgon Consolidated Industries and former Chairman of the Western Bulldogs AFL Club.
Committee for Ballarat CEO, John Kilgour stated, "Ballarat has a proud history of successful family businesses being established in our region and operating at local and international level".
The Round Tale Dinner was sponsored by iconic Ballarat family business, Haymes Paints, and MC for the evening was founder David Haymes.
"It’s fantastic to have both David Smorgon and David Haymes share their own personal journey and also key learning’s with our members in transitioning their respective family businesses during periods of accelerated change", Kilgour said.
The also included the launch of Committee’s Strategic Action Plan which will provide a focus for Committee’s work over the next 5 year period. Committee Chair, Judy Verlin, stated, "Committee boasts a proud history of championing social and economic growth in our region and the legacy we leave for future generations is in our hands by the actions and decisions we make today".
