Golden Plains Shire Council - Lethbridge Airport Fuel Infrastructure Project
Provision of a permanent fuel supply will support the growing tourism and commercial market as well as the current and future recreational aviation fleet. It will provide critical operational capability for both firefighting assets and air
Commonwealth Funding approved: $225,166
Total project cost: $450,333
The two Ballarat funding applications by the City of Ballarat to support further development of the Ballarat Sports & Events Centre (BSEC) and the relocation of the Ballarat Pastoral and Agricultural Society to Victoria Park; were unsuccessful in this round of bids.
Ballarat Basketball CEO -Peter Eddy, representing the Indoor Group stated, “that while the sports are very disappointed with the rejection of the application they will work closely with Council and the State Government to deliver the $14m expansion of the BSEC so that local community sport and the elite teams training base can become a reality in early 2018”. The shortfall in funding will result in reducing the size and scope of the development with 4 new courts to be built increasing capacity to 6. The remaining 2 courts plus the increased spectator seating capacity to create a new show court environment will now not be included in this stage of the development.
Round 3 funding applications in the National Stronger Regions Fund open 15 January 2016. Committee will continue to work closely with both these member organisations in progressing their strategic plans and support any future funding application that might be made in this regard.
