Round Table Dinners

Date: Thursday 2 September 2010

Speaker: Jane-Frances Kelly, Cities Program Director - Grattan Institute

Venue: Mercure Ballarat Hotel and Convention Centre.

As the Committee develops its own position on population growth in our region and we contemplate the inevitable challenges to our liveability such change can bring, the next Round Table Dinner will feature a speaker who brings much knowledge with which to inform us all. Jane-Frances Kelly has been Cities Program Director at the Grattan Institute, an independent public policy think tank, since June 2009. Since moving to Australia in 2004, Jane-Frances has worked as a senior adviser to the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, the Boston Consulting Group, the Vice-Chancellor at Melbourne University, the Chief Commissioner at Victoria Police, and the Victorian and Queensland Premier’s Departments. She played a central role in the 2020 Summit, and has also spent two mid-winters working with Indigenous leader Noel Pearson. She has also worked in the UK Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit, leading a team which produced the first UK Government Strategic Audit. Jane-Frances holds degrees from Oxford, the Wharton School, and Princeton. She has been asked to speak on a “Liveable City” theme.

Invitations will be sent to all members closer to the date.
